I have a filter pad above my sump inlet and gate cleaning it...

Does anyone else use one or just got rid of it? I have poly-fil underneath so not too much of a problem (that I can see!) maybe noise?

I stopped running filter pads, floss or socks a long time ago and my Reef has never looked better.

Does anything accumulate in ur sump? / how does your display do? Do you run carbon? Any uv or anything?! lol I usually go periods on and off with not running any poly fil but always have had these pads in... I don’t clean them tho lol idk

My sump does get pretty funky which to me is no big deal but display stays crystal clear for the most part.. I pull mechanical filtration trying to get my nutrients up and it’s been so nice not having to keep up with changing pads or cleaning socks I have never went back.
