I have a new BRS 5 stage system and a new water softener. I wondering if I should plumb in a whole house filter before the softener ?

Also, how do we set up a water softener so we don't soften the lawn & garden ?

So you're softening your lawn ?
If so, can we do something to change it ?

Would probably be a good idea to have a sediment filter before your softener, I have a 10" x 4.5" before mine.

For the lawn, have it tapped off before the softener.

Yeah, I have a large iron/sediment filter ahead of the DI chamber on my house softener. Plumb them after the external faucet lines.

Can you tell me how ?
If you have a computer app to draw it out, that would be great.

I'll have to study my basement plumbing, as the softener was already built before we bought the house.

Mine goes main into house, T splits one line to outdoors, other to whole home water filter and then to water softener. My RODI is fed from water softener line running to washing machine.
