Do you use gloves in your tank? Here's a tip!

I'm probably not the only one that's ever thought of this, but I find it very useful and thought I would share it!
I try to always use nitrile gloves when reaching into my tanks, but there is that problem with them filling up with water.
Putting a rubber band over the cuff keeps this from happening. I like the wide ones that come on bunches of asparagus.

I use to have that problem until I bought the yellow rubber gloves that go up to your elbow

your'e not leaving the rubber bands in the tank for long enough for anything to happen.

I bought reefing gloves from amazon once. They go all the way up past your elbows. But I just tend to stick my hands in anyway. Always rinse with RODI first.

They're inert, no issues. Lots of people use rubber bands to tie soft corals onto frag plugs when fragging (so they stay on for a couple weeks).

I used to use rubber bands and gloves also until I started cutting the circulation off to my hands lol. I ended up ditching the gloves

When I decide to glove up, which I'll admit is rare, I use the long veterinary/food service loose plastic shoulder length gloves. Then I put a latex/nitrile glove over it with a rubber band on the cuff. This way I can still use my finger dexterity/sense of touch and stay dry.

Quite frankly, I don't see the sense of using just a glove on your hand. If your goal is to keep from contaminating your tank or getting an infection, putting on a glove then plunging your arm up to your armpit kinda defeats the purpose.
