Just wondering if anyone uses lunar/moon lights. I had a 24g nano for a couple of years and used the moon light it provided but I don't use them on my current tanks. Is it beneficial to use them?

A lot of people use the Powerbrites, they give a nice pop.

I have display LED moonlights that you can push a button to change color from purple/ blue/ red/ orange/ green. the nice thing is you can have it at blue for and see your corals at night and if you want it darker set it to red. I got at IKEA FWIW.

Not sure if there is any real benefit to them but, it does make a really cool nightlight!
I use powerbright LED's on my main display at the end of my lighting cycle just to enjoy the glow of my corals..

I use them on my big tank and wish I had them back on my 75gal. I love looking at them when everything is asleep...inculding my family. The colors are beautiful and it is just very peaceful and soothing. AND you can see the night creatures that you didn't know you had!!!

I've not read that they do any good or harm. Just something that makes the hobby more enjoyable if you're an insomniac. ;)

I use them for viewing only. Like Gary said they really don't have any benefit. I remember when they first came out they said they would help simulate the moon light and possibly stimulate growth and spawning.

I have some cheap fleabay DIY led now, but will use these when I set up my new tank.

Yes they act like a night light to go to the bath room.
They also make corals glow.

Ok. yah I use PowerBrite LED's as well. More or less for supp lighting but lately I've changed to using them for my morning cycle and evening cycle and leaving them on throughout the night as well

I've always used them. Not sure if it's beneficial but it makes things look awesome.

The Cree leeds are more brighter then the powerbrites and have very nice par readings
I use them as part of my nite cycle and they pop colors and give a good shimming to my T5

So some people are leaving power brites on all night? Do the corals over go into "sleep mode?"
