Do you use macros as nutrient export?

I love my ornamental macros for filling in space and adding color and texture to my display. However, another big plus for me keeping macros is the nutrient export. I have 9 fish in a 56 gallon tank and I like to feed heavy. My tank is in its 7th + year and I am down to 5 gallon water change a month.

I use a refugium and cheato and ive only done 2 waterchanges in 3 years

I also like macro algae in my displays. Nutrient recycling and natural ascetics are a big plus for me.
