Do you use UV on your reef tank?

Do you use UV all of the time? Some of the time? Only when you think you need it? Why?

I have one but only use it when there is a problem with my tank. It has been a while, but 6 months ago i used it for dinos and it dissapeared after a week.

Why do you only run it when you see a problem? Why not run it all the time?

I only use it when necessary because in one of my tanks, I have no place to put it in my sump so i have to hang it in front of my tank. Its ugly. I also dont use it all the time because it requires maintenance and energy. If the tank is fine, I'm just creating more work for myself over nothing.
