Do You Vacuum Your Sand Every Water Change?

I find myself only really vacuuming the sand until my 20 gallon pail is full. It's not a DSB, 2-3 inches. And instead of doing 10 gallons per week, I do 20 gallons biweekly. Sucks up so much crap.

Just curious if most people focus on the sand or the water. Obviously the poll doesn't take into account bare bottoms.

In my lagoon 25 I used coral crushed gravel about .5 of an inch thick and since I only have two fish and I like to feed them a lot and my inverts I gravel vac 5 gallons weekly. It's good to stir up your sand bed to release those nitrogen gases slowly or prevent them from building up pockets. Nassarius snails and sand sifting gobies, diamond gobies in my favor can help reduce the amount you gravel vac.

I have a 220g and I do water change every 2-4 weeks and yes I vacuum the sand every time. I do a 200l water change.

Yes, I vacuum my entire substrate once a week, every water change.
