Do your fish come out more when the flow is off?

Tonight, I turned off all of my flow in the tank so I could take some photos of corals and such. After a half hour or so of being away from the tank, I see that ALL of my fish are out and swimming around, nibbling here and there, and just generally behaving like a tank full of fish should behave.

I am curious if this is just me or if anyone else has seen this behavior?

Maybe your running your flow to high? I turned my flow way down well over a year ago and my coral and fish love it even my 38 SPS corals.

Definitely yes. When I turn off the flow they expect to be fed.

They come out more when I turn off the flow. Because I turn off the flow before I feed.

I can't isolate flow vs feeding (naturally that is. I suppose I could de-condition them, but why?), so I honestly have no idea.

My fish have now learned that when the flow is off, the food is coming. They all come out and circle around waiting.

Yes only because when the flow goes off, that allows them to access areas that they normally couldn't get to to look for food.

Yes my fish come out a lot more, especially smaller ones. My tanks use the opportunity to feed on any ulva growing on my Vortechs.
