Do zebra barred dart fish kill each other off?

I started with 6 zebra barred dartfish 2.5 months ago and am now down to a pair. I think it is a male and a female. Tank is 250 g, so plenty of room. They always seemed to school, and hung out in the same hidey hole. I never saw any predation or bullying from the other fish.

I've had a pair for four months, never seen anything but them buddying up together.

You ever figure out what happened? I had a trio. The middle sized one disappeared and now the littlest one won’t come out from under his rock. I’m trying to figure out if the biggest of the trio is the bully or one of the other fish in the tank.

Never figured it out. Still at two. Both generally hide in the rocks. One much more than the other.

I've not had any issues with zebra barred dartfish getting along g with each other. Scissortails are more chippy with each other...

I suspect they are being intimidated my other fish.

I've had the same experience. While I never observed any direct aggression they always seem to whittle down to one or two

I've never had a problem with them whittling down. Although, if there is a stressor the lowest ones in the pecking order will succumb first.

I have never had aggression between them. I’ve had 3 for almost 2 years now.
