Noticing that some of my best Acro stability & growth occurs when my Acro frags have Zoas growing completely around the Acro base. Is there some type of symbiotic relationship between the Acros & Zoas? Does one help protect the other?

Hmmm interesting… makes me wanna glue some Zoa’s around my sticks

Can't speak to your acros, but my I've noticed that where green monsters were touching a plating Monte cap, the growth was anemic. Definitely impaired compared to where it is not touching. Zoas.

Could they be growing outward/upward instead of encrusting under the zoa shadows because they are looking for light?

Yes - that is probably part of it but wondering if there is something more encouraging polyp extension and growth?
