I been doeing my alkalinity and calcium try to find turn them over night I when to 385 to 395 on my calcium but my magnesium went to 1470 to over 1500 that's all my test kit goes to but I need to get my calcium up to 420 or so but worried about my magnesium going higher or is that okay what should I keep doeing calcium and don't worry about my magnesium please help

You mag will come down on its own. When you dose try to keep your alk between 8 to 8.5. Ca 400 to 450 and mg 1300 to 1380.
How long have you had you tank setup?

About a year and half but I get more and more indepth with corals about a year so keep doeing the Calcium to keep it up I'm doeing about 40ml to keep it at 400 I have a 36 gallon tank

I does with 2 part and I read I need to does both calcium and alkalinity the same amount so I at 40ml calcium at night when light go out and alkalinity in the morning

The only reason your mag would have gone up is your calcium has magnesium added in with it. That magnesium is not being used as fast as the calcium in your tank. Switch to a different kind of 2 part that does not include magnesium if your worried about it. However magnesium is usually safe to about 1800. Trust me there is no way your 2 part has enough mag in it to raise it that high. Even if you used a product specifically targeting mag it takes anywhere from 200ml -500ml to raise a 50 gallon tank 200.

Testing error is most likely. Or perhaps a strange batch of salt that had super high mag. Regardless highly unlikely that mag will cause problems before calc or alkalinity. You would need to be over 1800 before you even noticed. And you could easily remove it with water changes.

Here is a calculator http://reef.diesyst.com/chemcalc/chemcalc.html --- Use it to calculate exactly how much of your calc and alk to add to achieve the levels you want from where you are now.

Check out the balling Method of dosing. Once I started this program my parameters settled down and stay pretty much the same. My tank was a year old at the time and in now 17 months old now. I use a premixed dosing ready product from Aquaforest 1+2+3.
