Does a 0.002 error in salinity measurement (like 1.024 vs 1.026) really matter?

With one calibration fluid I get a 0.002 difference compared to another calibration fluid (like 1.024 vs 1.026) Does it matter if my reading is incorrect by this much as long as I keep the salinity stable?

If you can repeat the test over and over and get same number then in my opinion it does not matter.

how does Your tank look? Are corals and fish fat and happy? Find the number that works for your tank and stick with it.

Due to some dinos that I accidentally let get away from me, the corals are not feeling fabulous. But I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't hear that keeping my tank at 1.027 or maybe even 1.028 was going to cause problems.

I have noticed a difference in copepod numbers between 1.026 and 1.028. There were considerably less copepods and rotifers at 1.028. After lowering to 1.026 they started to come back quickly - so it’s possible these sensitive creatures are impacted by such a change in salinity.

keep in mind this is very anecdotal evidence - by simple observation of the aquarium glass at both levels.
