Does activated carbon remove vodka overdose?

Basically I overdosed my tank with vodka and it became super super cloudy and murky.
After getting a big water change and other methods I used, it took almost a week for it to clear up. Most corals are...not great. But I only had cheap softies which will grow back.

anyway, I added activated carbon because google said to but I’m having trouble understanding how it works because isn’t vodka a carbon too?

I have detritus all over my rocks and it looks weird.

Activated carbons preferably binds organic molecules, especially drugs (e.g. fluconazole, erythromycin), and dyes (e.g. chlorophyll and related colored molecules). Ethanol is an organic molecule, but is not bound very well since it is small and polar.

Doesn't matter because all the vodka has been consumed. Activated carbon will help bind problematic organics left behind from the bacterial bloom.

I agree that none of the organics that we dose (vodka, vinegar, sugar, etc.) will appreciably bind to GAC in a reef aquarium.
