They use to be common place. Now it seems they are rare. I hate acrylic ones. Since they have more solid surface. More algae making them a solid light stopping ledge. More accumulated stuff, uneaten food and fish poop since there is no flow through it. Only over or under them.

Made one with a magfloat and super glue. work great. The nice thing about using a magfloat as the anchor is you can move it to different levels in the tank to adjust the corals to the lighting

Ya know, now that you've mentioned that I seem to have the same problem as well. I was looking wondering where some of the detritus build up was coming from and why it was there. I have flow going over, but it isn't enough to blast away the gunk unless it's a highly directed flow.

I've been looking on fleabay for some racks, and came across eggcrate ones.

Frag Racks

And of course, there's always DIY.

Yes I've used a old power head hanger and egg crate zip ties use it on my Sps small frags keeps them very close to surface exposed to light n they love it

I did get that one. Somewhat small. The other issue I remembered this morning with thin acrylic. The taller frags of 1.5" teeter in the flow of powerheads. Sometimes even fall onto a neighbor frag. The acrylic is so thin. There is no depth down the frag plug being secured on a plug that is only maybe 3/4" on the top. Several acro and digitada have signs of battle. Where they leaned onto a neighbor frag.

Easier to make them. I've seen too many issues with the magnets rusting, and not strong enough to hold the weight, especially on 1/2" or thicker glass. As jsker said mag floats and some super glue works fine.

This DIY also would be easier to move when the glass needs scraping.

I can relate to cheap magnets rusting. The better, usually more expensive racks have better magnets in strength and epoxy. But also the cheaper acrylic ones will have the same magnet issues.
