Hi,

Looking for an automatic transfer switch inverter . If anyone uses one, can you suggest one for pure sine wave so as not to fry my apex ?
I do have a Honda generator - so please no suggestions for a generator . I do use the honda when am at home but since I travel so much, looking for an option much more hands off for my wife .

Regards,
Abhishek

So if it's a manual process for putting the generator in, an automatic transfer switch is out of the question. You need by code a transfer switch that will disconnect the main voktage. An inverter is separate, but the most reliable easy to implement is a double-conversion ups. I just picked one up on Craigslist and have it hardwired to one of the two aquarium circuits. It is a pure sine wave inverter that always runs off the batteries. The ups is a APC Smart-UPS RT 3000VA, with an extra tier of batteries. If you want more details drop me a pm, as it's quite in depth.
