Hi, I have no idea where to post this or where to look on the internet.

I have these in my tank, I've found 3 and have no idea what they are, where they have come from and if they are harmful or harmless.

The retract if I go near then, don't seem to bother anything although one is growing on my coral

Should I be concerned and if so, do you know how I get them out? And also, what are they?

Many thank

David

Thanks, would you recommend removing these or are they okay to leave?

Looking online they are quite aggressive growers and can take over the tank, which makes me thing eliminating them is the best way forward

get rid of them asap. If you leave them they will spread and sting all your corals. Aiptasia X is what i use these days, tried lemon juice didn't worfk for me neither did boiling ro water.

Thanks, I've ordered this so will try to get them out once it arrives

I'm also tempted to put in a couple of peppermint shrimp to keep them under control on an ongoing basis. I've read they are okay with cleaner shrimp, I have 2 already in a 300L tank

I got them too, again did not work for me, I must be feeding to good so they don't need to eat aiptasia.

Following. I'm currently using kalkwasser every 2 weeks in my 45g tank, it seems to work on very small heads/aiptasia (just smothered them) and not much chemistry/ imbalance to my tank

Thanks for the recommendation, I applied this to the Aiptasia on Sunday and they all died pretty much instantly. Marvelous stuff!

I am keeping a close eye in case any more appear but I'm planning to get a peppermint shrimp or 2 at the weekend (my LFS didn't have any last weekend but my not so LFS have some so I will drive over on Saturday). Hopefully they will eat any new ones that might appear. But I still have the Aiptasia X if that doesn't work
