My newly acquired (2 weeks ago) clown is insane. He eats well, he sleeps, and he chills with the dartfish sometimes.

Out of nowhere he literally does high speed zoomie laps around the tank. Last night he went for pretty much 30 minutes.

Here's a video from tonight.

Welcome to the world of clowns!!! Sometimes the behavior can provide clues for social or physical issues, but many times it is just a case of the zoomies. Good luck!

I have another clown in quarantine with a royal gramma. Have a few weeks until they're all together in the DT.

(Sorry, I couldn't resist)

I know clowns are weird and maybe you have the flow turned off, but it seems there is little to no surface agitation of the water.

The clown could be swimming at the top to get oxygen. Without the agitation, the water can't diffuse the oxygen into it. I would angle your return up some more to break the surface of the water.

I have a protein skimmer running. My return pump and a WaveMaker. My dartfish stays at the bottom for hours in his rock. I don't believe it's an oxygenation problem I think he's just nuts.

Mine won't stop swimming, he has not hosted anything in my tank, and he is the tank boss against 3 damsels
