It was like 6.0 about 2 months ago, but its not at 8.2 holding stead for the last 6 weeks. Nitrates last night was at .9 (but that hannah powder was clumpy so not sure if that is affecting, as it typically around 10) the phosphate was .09 and my calcium is 450. So its so strange as they look fine, than 2 days later they are skelton, no brown slime or anything. I did pick up uv sterlivers, but got the wrong tubing. So once i get the correct tubing i am going to hooked it upWhat’s your alk been the last couple weeks? All over? Sorry man
Anything you see in your tank is a reflection from weeks back - that alk drop to 6 whatever caused it, probably is the sole contributor for the shift. It was like 6.0 about 2 months ago, but its not at 8.2 holding stead for the last 6 weeks. Thanks to R2R and posts like yours, it definitely helps us all out to understand better and help one another. It never ends with a reef tank
Best of luck!nope, the alk was fixed before the torches were added. the phosphate got to .60 about 4 weeks ago. LIke here is my lemon lime that looked last week and here it is today. i am sure by tomorrow it will be all skeleton. its 50.3 waterbox and i do 5 gallon water changes every month. So i am baffled so i am holding off buying any for long while to i figure it out. I am goign to get my apex set up here i hope and so can watch the temps and ph at least. I dont have have a ph checker. Also plan on making a post to see what others thing, as it heart breaking see these go bad and they not cheap. I lost a nice 6 headed one. I dont see any thing picking at them either.Anything you see in your tank is a reflection from weeks back - that alk drop to 6 whatever caused it, probably is the sole contributor for the shift.

i agree, i love my fish, but sometimes (most of the time) i just am lazy. i havent cleaned glass in like 3 months cause i just dont care whats growing on it cause i can look at my tank from the top down.Man I struggle every day. Love it one moment and the next can’t figure out what the heck is happening. Everyone you talk to has a different opinion and non seems to be the answer
glad your handling it like a champ. There always seem to be a setback on the horizonLast weekend I came back after being out of town and noticed the rug by my tank was wet. Turns out that the glass sump under my RedSea Tank had an 8in crack in it and had been leaking on the floor. The water flowed right past my leak sensor so I had no idea. The ATO kept working so the salinity dropped to 1.020 which caused most of my SPS to RTN.
I was really upset but now I have replaced the sump and am reconfiguring the equipment and I am excited to rebuild. It is always a roller coaster with a reef tank.
I am happy with how the new sump area is turning out.glad your handling it like a champ. There always seem to be a setback on the horizon
Literally had the same thought last night. At the end of the day, it's worth the "trouble".Sometimes I wonder why I wanted the extra stress in my life, then I look at it and just know.
