Does anyone else smell their skimmer cup?

When I open the lid to my skimmer cup and look down the neck to check its production, I tend to give it a little snif. I guess I'm trying to see how stinky the stuff is but it's kind of weird when I think about it.

Anyone else do this?

I do all the time also. I did run a vent line into the cap to remove the gasses, so I have to wait 20 seconds to get a whiff. Lol.

You can't really avoid it when you remove the cup for cleaning. I don't go out of my way; it finds me! LOL

I hold my breath when I pop the cup off to clean it. I dump it outside and leave it sit a minute before cleaning it. Sometimes it stinks the whole house up and you have to open the windows to get rid of it. Definitely not sticking my nose in it and taking a whiff.

I dump it into the slop sink in the laundry room and need to run the faucet for few minutes to get the smell out of the drain.
