Does anyone else's Clown sleep on the return/overflow?

Just curious. I have a pair of Darwin clowns that are a pretty good size. Roughly around 3 inches. I've had them over the past 2 years. My female lately has been sleeping on the overflow to the sump. Mainly her belly side is sucked to the return when I've watched at night after lights out. She has no injuries from this and both fish are in great shape/health. They're paired up in the day and swimming around like normal then separated at night. The male sleeps in the rockwork or on/around the sand bed. Has anyone else ever experienced this? Any concerns I should have other than injury to the fish from the overflow? I know clownfish have odd behaviors from time to time.

Mine do. They both sleep on opposite sides of the overflow. I've long since stopped worrying about it, as they seem happy and know what they're doing. They've done this in two different tanks.

I have a single clown and yes he sleeps in the return flow corner. Sometimes right on top lol

Yes. and good thing your clowns are big already. I've lost a couple of juvenile clownfish going down the overflow and into the filter sock

Korl- mine is 2 inches and jumped out of the dt into the sump behind it lol took me forever to get him out

I've had to use a piece of rigid tubing with air line hose, to get a few fish out overflows. Drain as much water as possible out of the over flow and place the rigid tubing around the middle of the fishes body and create suction with the air line hose attached at the other end. Pull them out with gentle suction applied. Works like a charm. Only problem is the depth of water and plumbing to maneuver around. The less water the better. Just enough for the fish to lay on its side so you can attach the rigid tubing is ideal.

Yeah mine do always even with lights on they stay next to the overflow constantly. Wish they would use the other 3.5 feet of tank as they are the only fish in the tank
