Does anyone have experience with the H2 Pro glass tops?

i used 1/8” because i have some very small fish in my 40B. I have a pink streaked wrasse coming this week which is both a jumper and small. I do not know if the finer mesh was actually needful. In my testing it only reduces par 3-4%.

What are the major downsides to 1/8” mesh?

The max sizes of the fish I’ve chosen on my stocking list:

Ocellaris Clowns (female 4”, male maybe 3”)

PJ Cardinals (3”)

YWGs (4”)

African Flameback Angelfish (3”)

Royal Gramma (3”)

YT Blue Damsels (2.75”)


However I think I’ll be getting them at around half size five or take half an inch. Will 1/4 be too large of a gap?

I will have to let others answer whether it is needful to you. down side is appearance, obtaining it, and slight more par loss. i found this last part to be negligible. its a thin material but has held up ok so far.

Also I may not be able to get the top as soon as my tank’s set up because if it’s a BRS or Red Sea one I’ll need to have it shipped via a freight forwarder to Asia.

I guess before then I’ll have to stick with the fish on my stocking list less likely to jump. That means the Cardinals but what else’s out of my list is less likely to jump?

Just a little update. I have decided to go with a RSR 1/8” rimless Kit.

you may have to buy the 1/8” mesh separately, fortunately it is quite inexpensive at BRS. good luck with your project!

I got mine at BRS. It seems like something you can get at a hardware store too.
