I got these as a bonus on my order from AquaSD. I could not be happier with how amazing the shipment was or these super cool bonus corals. Just not sure if they have a name I should know or not. I am just back into montis after, oh goodness, 10 years. They are for my small 6g tank. Super excited to get back. I have always loved montis.

Top is Starburst. I'm not sure on bottom, but that string going across is how I first introduced dinos into my tank and im still battling with it.. Lost a fish yesterday and 3 snails today.

I was going to also suggest the top one being a sunburst. I really don't know the designer names but I have a similar looking frag that is orange with yellow polyps and that is what it is called. It will vary from a bright orange to a lighter shade of orange but the small dot / yellow polyps never change. Mine took a while to grow and I'm not sure why then one day it just took off. It started to spread then spiral up and shade. I had to break a lot of it up and pieces went everywhere to include the sand bed. Those pieces are taking hold and growing. So can't speak of light requirements because one is dead smack in the middle of my tank and the rest is tucked away on the sides, bottom, or wherever they fell and growing.

Similar to all montis they can become a pest similar to Xenia due to the shading nature of them. However, what most don't know is that they play a vital role of safety for fish. I have 7 sapphire damsels that I recently introduced and they love all of my montis. When they are not out in the open doing their dances they dart into the nooks the spiral creates or ledges of shade / darkness.

Thanks for the dino tip. It happened because of my newer set up in the frag tank. Always something in reef keeping. I will get them in check.

Thanks for the name. I had a huge monti cap back when I kept them. Two actually. Lots of encrusting too. I really like the little yellow polyps.

Oh forgot to say, the dinos are in my tank, not from the frags. The frags were super clean. Just so we are clear on that one.

I don’t have anything to add other than AquaSD is the bomb. I’ve ordered from I think 8 suppliers as I stocked my tank this past 2months. AquaSD won by a landslide and are my go to because of their packaging care, prices, availability, and freebies.

Such a sucky thing to have lol I hope I can beat them this time around ive only got one blenny thats survived out of 2 tanks. So depressing

Send them a picture and they will tell you exactly what they are..
I have done each time I get a “freebie”

I will be identifying the algae or dino issue today. Thanks for the help. As far as encrusting, no idea yet as I literally put them in and waited about a day to take pictures and am letting them settle.

Thanks for the help guys. The other freebie was a purple monti cap. I had one long ago and it was a favorite.

I too love ASD. Tons of my corals have some from there.
