I spotted this fellow on a Philippines exporter's list, and looking at the Flame Scallop and Electric Flame scallop, the scientific name doesn't match. The common name on the list is just Flame Scallop, but the scientific name is Lima Mians. Looking up the name just brings up Brazil weather for a place called Nove Lima. I'm super interested to find out what this guy is, does anyone possibly know?

Lima is the former of the now Ctenoides. Mians could just be a typo or some fishy naming, but... Not a great reef addition if you were considering keeping one. Incredibly difficult to keep alive due to very specific dietary requirements.

Oh, I never knew the genus name was changed. I had the same thought too it could just be a sales tactic. Also yes, I do know about the flame scallops, I've kept 1 successfully in past for about 7 months before I had to give it away in a tank crash

Could be a typo for Lima/Limaria hians, that one exists

Edit : on second thought, more likely to be wrong about scientific name altogether, L hians would be an atlantic species
