I've got these Zoa looking things on my rocks. I almost want to say rock anemone but I'm not sure it doesn't look anything like aiptasia. I'm just really curious to know what they are. Unfortunately they blend in with the purple on one of the rocks, in a way making it harder to see what color it is. Please ignore the one coral it got hurt when I tried to take a fish out and had to take rocks out and such. Was hoping it would come back but I don't think it is. There is another coral on it that is alive so I'm just going to keep it in there. I appreciate the help.

Though, those things could have potentially killed it cause it was touching. I'm not sure. Would make sense.

What's a "zola"?

Can't tell much from your pic, but try googling "majano anemone" and see if that looks similar.

I can't tell by the photo very well but what you describe sounds like mojano anemones, which I personally hate 5x more than aiptasia because they're harder to get rid of. They spread slower UNLESS you go trying to kill them then it seems like every piece of this anemone turns in to another and they absolutely take over.

Aiptasia eating filefish took care of mine, eventually after battling for years in several tanks.

I'm curious what you fed your File Fish after it took care of your Aiptasia problem?

He just eats my normal frozen medley. That reef tank has mostly leathers, star polyps, mushrooms, and nems that he doesn't bother.

I removed him and brought him from tank to tank each time and now he resides in my 125 wrasse reef

Thx, I appreciate the info!

Anytime!

I had some pearlscale butterflies try too, but they ended up dying or eating other stuff, and far more decided not to touch them. 3/5 aiptasia eating filefish are both aiptasia and mojano, one ate only aiptasia, one didn't eat anything but frozen medley lol

Mine even attacks the nori clip with the tangs and wrasse

Sorry for the bad pic I tried to get as good of a pic as I could.
