I have bright green and reddish brown algae intermixed with sand. Not Stringy. What is this & how do I get rid of. Salinity .027. DKH 8.2. Cal 440. Phoshate .03. Nitrate .05. Have had this for a while. Stable. Not getting much worse.

Looks to me like the sand just needs agitated. may get a sand sifting star and sand dwelling snails.

Just diatom increase flow in that area

Can't tell the color, and thus get a positive ID, with blue light. Could be diatoms or cyanobacteria. Either way, cerith snails do a great job of keeping the sand clean. They also go on the rocks and glass. They come in multiple varieties. I find it best to keep multiple types. If you have enough sand you can consider a fighting conch. They stay in the sand.
