I have had this long stringy stuff in my tank for a little over a week iv spent days scooping it out and changing the water. every morning it appears to come back. Can anyone identify the cause of this and how to get rid of it?

Thank you

No bubbles in it. When i stir up the sand bed, alot of it appears to be clear. Makes my tank look like its full of spider webs.

I would siphon out the strands and try the dino filter test and if you have access to a microscope have a look. Looks like a new tank cycling? You could try a few days of blackening out the tank. Do existing strands disperse at night and vanish by morning?

Heres the results. And some added pictures of the substance in question

I agree. The rock looks new, the substrate looks new.

Manual removal only. Please don't run out to the LFS and buy a solution. This will pass.

Thanks for all the help guys! il keep pulling it out and doing water changes.
