Does anyone know what this is?

Hi, this stuff keeps coming back very frequently. It blows off very easily but is back in 1-2 days. It will attach to plastics, dead corals, and in dark places like ledges but not on the top of rocks or healthy corals. Params below.

Its just marine snow and detritus getting kicked up into your water column. Your seeing the end results where it's landing. Clean it up.

Thanks, I've never heard of marine snow. But this is good to know it's just detritus.

You might also want to look at this post by me. I have no fish in this tank, so no marine snow.

Calothrix or Lyngbya?

I am pretty sure this is either Calothrix or Lyngbya, but not sure which one. Can anyone help with the ID? Here is a picture of it growing on the UV sterilizer I put in to help kill it. Ironically, it grows here faster than anywhere else. pH - 8.1 Phos - 0.03 Nit - 5.0 Alk - 7.2 Sal - 1.026
