I'm getting rid of a gsp rock soon which will open some serious real estate for larger lps in the center sand bed. Problem is, I have a lovely, sweet and caring Diamond goby that will dump pounds of sand on anything too close to the sand bed. I feel like I've seen frag plates for the sand bed, this would keep him from sifting near them and avoid irritation to the coral but I cant find it anywhere. Or maybe I'm using the wrong terminology. Any advice?

this disc would be buried in the sand or sitting on it ?
I’ve seen square large tiles and assume they might work for what you’re looking for

Probably just sitting on the sand bed but it will likely get buried a bit over time.

Yeah that was going to be my backup plan.
I might consider making this your primary plan. This is just me. It the look of a plastic rack even if partly covered by lps to me does not look as nice. You could also take the frag off the plug and glue it directly to a piece of rock which is what I do

Its looking to be that way. I know I saw a tank with a disc frag holder that was sitting in sand on here before but I cant find them online. Ill more than likely go the rock route.

I made a single Frag stand to keep my clove polyps free of detritus on my barebottom, it works great.

1/2" masonry bit in an impact drill works great. I drill my rocks all the time for frags.
an impact or hammer drill makes quick work of it.

Yep 1/2” masonry bit and a piece of rock.

I use rock back splash tiles from the big box and drill holes to place the plugs, they work great. They come in a bunch of sizes 3" x 6", 3" x 3", 4" x4".
