Each colour can cover quite a large range so not sure you are going to get a more accurate colour chart...my Nyos nitrate kit is the same, you are just meant to judge what colour it is nearest to, if between 2 colours then your reading is adjusted accordingly to match.
It’s not that I’m Color blind it’s that the color shade does not match. It’s alway more red and the card is more pink. I get the transition color thing but the colors are never the same as the solution. Even fully saturated they aren’t the same that’s true throughout the entire band
You can dilute it to get a range from 0-50ppm
To be honest I’m not sure yet. I have been slowly raising my nitrates over a few months, and I’m still testing right around 3-3.5 ppm. My goal is to be in the 10-15 mark taking it slow. It seems to take a lot of heat for people over it having a lot of steps, but the reality is that once you do it a few times it’s not that bad. I find it barely more than the red seat kit. clean up takes a few seconds longer, but once every other week isn’t a big deal in my book. Biggest plus is no guessing at colors!
I have had multiple cards from the same manufacturer that obviously not match. I think it just come down to being cheap and saving 10-20 cents on high quality printing or using using printing processes that cant ensure color consistency. Another example is salfert blue that indicates complete on the cards isn't the right shade of blue , i mean yeah its blue but the shade matters.
So read the kit outside in daylight? FWIW I am currently reading the card under "daylight" LED house lighting. I am also frustrated with the color chart on the redsea kit and feel as if I'm guessing at the true result.
Why would anyone tank water be a difrent color then anyone else's if the water is clean it is all the same color as water has no color when clean it is clear
