I had some Xenia that I purposely put in the tank. They looked to be doing well, almost too well, so I was already considering measures to control them when they just disappeared overnight. The small colonies in the back of the tank are literally gone. The large colony was all shriveled up as if something had been picking on them.

The only two things to note are that I had a magnesium spike to around 1550 due to a new batch of magnesium stock solution, but all other inhabitants look just fine and I'm currently working the concentration back down. I also have been dosing peroxide for cyano, but once again all other inhabitants look fine. I did dose 8 mL of Reef Color B and the next day this happened, but I'm not sure it's anything more than a coincidence.

I have a flame angel that is on his way out due to picking on corals, but those were mostly fleshy, hard-skeleton corals, not softies, so I doubt it's him.

Thoughts?

Phyllopesium Rudmani eat xenia. Mimic Nudibranch.

Zenia although is said to be easy to keep and grows like a weed does not like change or ULNS
So my question would be what is your no3 and po4 at?
Also how and what do you feed your tank to help determine the organic load

I would imagine a copperband would find them tasty, but could be wrong.

Well, the phosphate is around 0.04 ppm, and the nitrates have been around 1.5 ppm. I have recently cut back on feedings in a effort to get my flame angel to go into the baited fish trap, but that didn't work. lol
