Does aptasia need light to surface?

I've had a small snail CUC in QT for 70 days now, but they haven't been under any kind of high PAR light. The question is: Does aptasia need a light source to start showing its ugly face?

When I've had them in the past, I never found them in my sump, so it has me wondering if I need to blast some light over the QT for a period of time.

They don’t need much light if any. if you find them in a low light area like a sump, they will be kinda transparent.

No the will live in the dark, usually look clear almost when they have no light.
