Does Carbon go bad?

I found the following in the back of a cabinet, it's still sealed but years old. Would it still be effective if I use it? I've done some searching and wasn't able to find a definitive yeah or nay. Thanks in advance.

It's fine. It may have adsorbed some breakdown elements from the packaging but negligible. I would use it.
