I just added a small amount of Cipro to my tank last night. This morning, the room the tank is in smells pretty bad. Sort of like cat urine but definitely something different. Is this normal for a Cipro treatment? Everything seems fine, just a bizarre smell.

Cipro is used a lot for QT tanks. If used in a DT it can kill off things. Your prob experiencing die off

That's what I was thinking. I know there will be some bacterial dieoff. That was the point of treatment, but it is just a strange smell. More of a chemical smell than fish tank smell. No ill effects in the tank from treatment yet so we will see.

Aired out the room and the tank smells fine now. It does seem to be a short-lived die-off event that triggered some gas to be released from the tank. Very strange but my wife is glad the smell is over. :p
