I can’t find the answer anywhere. I ran copper power in my quarantine tank and did a large water change four days ago and put Cuprisorb in the media basket. The fish that was in there was moved to the dt. I want to get the tank ready for my next set of new fish. Can I just doss heavy with Turbo start? Or do I need to attempt to super dry out and wipe down the qt? The next fish will get exposed to copper as well, so I’m not overly concerned with residual copper. I just want to know what’s the quickest way to have a lot of good bacteria again.

Hopefully the QU folks will chime in before Aquarius enters the house of Pegasus?

You could dose the aquarium with a 1 ppm ammonium chloride and see how the system responds. You will have your answer in 24 hours.

I've used CupriSorb on display tanks and that's the main use therefore can't see how that would affect bacterial colonies nor have I seen detrimental affects in my tanks in processing ammonia.

There’s no evidence that cuprisorb kills any bacteria.
My sps frag tank is 650ltr and I have been using cuprisorb 250gr since yesterday, but today, the sps polyp did not appear and the water suddenly became cloudy.. I wonder why this is??is it normal ??

Why are you using cuprisorb?

I use cuprisorb because I found my wm magnet was rusty, I use cuprisorb with the dosage according to the instructions for use, but today the condition is getting worse, some sps have started to rtn, any suggestions on what I should do??

Well, you are in a pickle. :(

Are corals suffering due to:

1. Elevated metals
2. Excessively low trace elements
3. Unrelated issues entirely

I’d consider getting a quality icp-ms, and dosing a trace element mix, which will add what is needed without pushing any particular excessive metal appreciably higher.

The cloudiness is confusing and may be a clue, because I dont see much of a way that either 1 or 2 above lead to cloudiness.

Are you dosing organic carbon?

My dosing only big3 and trace element .. no carbon dosing .. for now, i removed the cuprisorb and will do 50% water change.. and i will try to dosing trace elements, hopefully the condition will improve.. there are almost 250 frags in it, which are dying
