Hi all, Im in the process of setting up again my DI stage, right now just RO for drinking and first water change after newly cycled tank.
Question is, my DI unit has been seated for about 10 years with no use. Does resin expires?
should I use it or replace it?
Thanks

If it is color changing resin you can tell from that. For the most common resin, it turns orange/yellow when it is depleted.
I don't know about an actual expiration date, but if it was exposed to air for that long then it is likely depleted.

It has been inside the cartridge all this time. Here is a pic.

I would replace, just because you have no way of knowing what biological processes have occurred over this time frame. Bacteria do weird things to plastic over time, and 10 years is pretty long.
