Whatever you do a couple things to be aware of:
1. Palythoas have toxins. Be careful when working on or around them. Vent a window so you have fresh air. Wear some gloves, eye protection, and other forms of PPE. Be smart above all be safe. To know more do some searches on palythoa poisoning. If you are already aware then we're good.
2. I've not used f'aptasia on Palythoas. When used properly the white stuff, or solution, will harden. Usually within minutes which is why they recommend turning off pumps. So turn off, apply in small patches, let it harden, resume flow. After a couple days (check instructions because I was thinking it was 2 days) you should be able to remove the white cover lifting it which should bring up the dead Palythoa. Break it up, siphon, etc.
3. Work in small batches - not all at once for the big kill, nuke option. I think it will raise PH.
Article I had bookmarked for reference. Just wanted to say if you are going this route, or with Kalk paste, just go slow. That is the main thing. That and eye protection along with vented window.
All the best!
