Just curious if you've experienced this or my skimmer sucks lol

:D lol

Put in a used reef octopus 24" tall, its a beast. Got it for 80$. Pump is a sicce. So curious if its just the gfo i dropped in.

Never had GFO mess with my skimmer I run both full time

What kind of gfo are you using? Mind makes a big red water mess when i rinse it rowaphose never did (its bulk gfo)

I use bulk gfo in their dual reactor and it works great. When I change it, I pull the carbon cartridge out, and screw its empty canister back on, then run the outlet pipe into an empty container for 25 seconds or so. After about a gallon, its all clear - I place the carbon cartridge back in the canister and all is good to go.

This works the best because
•you dont foul up the carbon with red dust
•by pulling the carbon and screwing the empty canister back on, it acts as a sight glass to tell when the water is running clear.
Its normally more difficult to tell if its clear just by looking in the container of red water lol.

I've used seachem and rowaphos. I rinse in ro water before placing in reactor. Never had any problems.
