Does it ever end? : )

I recently got one that’s about 5’-6’ from tip to tip. He hangs out in the rocks during the day, you can see the legs come out of various holes occasionally

Gorgeous, I'd love to have that.
Thank you. I am happy with it : ) Luck beats skill everytime right? Dude, I really thought I killed this little guy. I found him stuck in my Mag cleaner... you know.. magnets, scrapper, Velcro like surfaces... I thought I saw a string at first. I was like... cleaning my glass with this guy. And he survived! Tough lil dude!

I know how to look for him now. : ) I saw him tonight. He is ok

My tank is now 8 months old. I have not put any new livestock in it for a little over 4 months.... today, this guy pops up outta nowhere. It looks like a long legged starfish. Is he a good guy or a bad guy? I have him sitting in a bowl of tank water right now. He got picked up by my mag-glass cleaner

He's an awesome guy.

This is what you get... you know... when you go with live rock. Enjoy :)

That's a "black" micro brittle star. Quote marks around black because that's what they're called, but they don't look it up close. Different species from white micro brittles, which are actually white. Black micro brittles stay very small, about 2" across, and are great detritivores. They breed in aquariums and will establish a nice little population for you. Absolutely no threat to anything but detritus, and maybe a mostly-dead snail or such.
No need to feed them, they eat detritus, but deliberately feeding them might help them breed a little faster. The only brittles that need to be deliberately fed to avoid shenanigans are ones large enough to actually DO shenanigans.

I just found this in my sump! I am pretty sure it is the same one as above... that net is 3” wide. That little starfish in at least 7” across!

I have 2 of the same in my 120. Came in on live rock.

Nice find. Those are brittle/serpent stars. Dark green ones are fish-eaters, but the rest are generally safe as long as they're well-fed. They're fun, creepy animals that will crawl out of your rockwork at night like a little horror movie monster. Great scavengers.
