About a week ago I bought some BTAs and the largest one has moved around the tank a lot and finally settled into it's current location (away from the other 5 nems). It now appears to be stretching its self between two point of my rock work:

Sorry for the bad cell phone photo, but if you look just to the lower right of the mouth, that part of the nem is stretched pretty tight and "skin" kind of forms a concave curve. It looks the same on the top side, you just can't see it in the photo.

Is this what they look like before they split?

Here is one from under the nem. It definitely looks like it is splitting looking at the foot. Is there anything special I need to do or not do while it splits? What about afterwards?

No, just let it do it. After it splits, you can leave both where they are, or you can carefully move one a few days later.
Usually the smaller one that's pulled away won't settle into a hole right away, giving you a window of opportunity to move it without a lot of stress.

Thanks. any clue as to about how long it should take to fulling split?

Mine usually do it overnight. I believe the shortest time was ~4hrs and maybe 12hr for the longest I've noticed. I have two strains that can split fairly regularly if I wanted to. From those two, one is now four and the other was one to 12+, they are kind of hard to count now. Last time I checked I had 21 total. Either way it doesn't take very long once it starts.

The posture in your pics does not necessarily mean it will split. It may or may change its mind. May just like to sit like that.

When you notice the mouth pinch with that stretch, it is usually a better indicator. And then the ripping itself apart...

Well, it has been about five days now and it has not split. It definitely has two feet now and one of the tentacles has kind of shriveled up right where I thought it was splitting. You can see it right in the middle of the pic below:
