Sure it does.i bet every reefer out here has a story of how lucky they were when it came to their tank.I read it all the time in threads. The guys wrass that jumped out of the tank and landed in the bucket of saltwater next to the tank is one that comes to mind.He found it 2 days later alive.Mine is probably watching the tank when the main pump had a stroke and died. Now ya got to admit that's lucky.
So for my 1,000 post I would like to ask you to please share with me your GOOD luck stories.Notice I said good luck stories sense we would crash the site with all our bad luck ones.Just ask nycaveman about his latest build.murphy's law all day long.
I hope we can all have fun with this one and get in a few laughs as well.

Yes, for numerous reasons.

Whats the DOC content of yours? forget the average over time.

What the oxygen level?

Is you par meter really telling you what you need to know? ????

Good luck

I had 2 pairs of black leopard clownfish in a divided and uncovered 20g long. One decided to jump one day...

Lucky me,
he jumped to the other side and not out of the tank. I panicked when I saw he was missing.

- Also lucky the other pair did not go after him!

Background: I once had an acro frag fall off into a spongodes coral and it RTN’d within hours.

Well I was just about out the door for work the next morning and decided to walk back to the tank check on my brand new WALT DISNEY colony. As soon as I looked at it, a TURBO SNAIL had grabbed it, dragged it OFF the frag rack, and onto that same coral...

They landed upright.

Yup.

I have a good luck story every time I get home from work to find my tank still doing well with all my equipment running I count my lucky stars every day.
Having a generator spear pumps and back up equipment to hand is one thing but I need to be there to implement them so while I’m away from my tank it’s fingers crossed

My tank runs pretty flawlessly but any time anything does happens it seems it happens when Im gone to my cottage. Luckily I have an apex and I get a notification and it either solves itself or I can do something on my phone. The one thing that did happen that I had no clue about was the ballast blew on my lights (T5) while I was gone for 2 weeks and didnt know until I got home. I have no idea how long the tank was without lights for.

Had a PVC fitting on my external return pump line crack - but it cracked in EXACTLY the right place so the jet of water was directed right back into my sump. Couldn't have 'planned' it any better.

I would say that the Mother’s Day before last was my lucky day. I had been wanting a pair of clowns. My lfs has two marine tanks and rarely have anything other than hermit crabs or damsels. I went to look and low and behold, two baby clowns!

I'm only 7-8 months into the reefing hobby so no good lucky stories for me. Only lucky thing was stumbling upon the Fluval EVO 13.5 while Christmas shopping for my daughter. Tank is great but I've made some pretty silly noob mistakes...like dropping a 4 inch cooling fan into the tank while it was on....giving my hammer a small haircut [emoji15]

My tank has been looking great the last few months, my year old hammer is going strong, my softies are bullet proof. Most newly added frags doing fine, even a monti frag.

I happened to test my phosphates with a new test kit...very high...must be a bad kit;).

Fow now luck is on my side:D.

that's pure luck.how fast was it pumping out?

Pure luck indeed ..... Fast enough to have drained my ATO reservoir in a few hours, at which point the pump would have shut down ..... but still. Cause of the crack was too much Teflon tape.
