Not really. Better off with carbon or chemipure

Not sure but a lfs lost a huge tank from breaking a rock apart that had around 50 nems on it to piece it out. They placed a handful right back in after rinsing it with rodi and a week later everything died. They told me it was due to copper being absorbed and released.. Whether they tested and definitively know I couldn't tell as I didn't ask they had a lot to deal with..

For whatever it's worth.

Sorry guys
Just to clarify, should I remove the Marine Pure if I’m trying to run copper ?
I use it in my hang on the back filter as media, in my QT.

would you take it out?

Yes,
Keep them wet, with some flow.
The copper will clobber your bacteria population, or if used, I would not put it back.

Yes any porous material will aborb the copper. It will also leach it back out when you do water changes and add carbon, cuprisorb, or other media designed to remove copper. It will not permanently hold on to it, but you do have to remove it. Copper power has chelated copper and it is harder to remove, you may just want to replace the marine pure when finished.

You do not want to remove your bacterial filtration before hand.
