Hello I just got my first BTA about a week ago and I have never seen him like this he is usually open and beautiful now the maroons just started to host him last night so I am wondering is he just stressed or is this normal posted pic below thank you for you time everyone

It's looking pretty stressed, something is bothering it, possibly too much attention from clowns if it's too small.
Was it at least 3-4x larger than clowns?

How long has tank been running?

No the BTA is maybe jist about the size of the bigger clown maybe a little bigger tank has been setup up for 3 months now
 
I see a lot of people lately having issues w/ nems and fairly new tanks, it's hard to achieve stability so soon that is really needed for nems.

So that already is an issue, and combine heavy petting by over zealous clowns and it's no wonder.

I would block clowns from it w/ a strawberry basket or something, squirt mysis a couple times a week to encourage growth, stay on top of good WC's to help maintain stability and watch params
