I recently acquired a very healthy green Hadonni and am curious if it looks ok. I notice many other carpets curl around the edges but mine seems to expand very wide all the time. The mouth looks good, it is extremely sticky and eats like a pig. I have 3 mini carpets that I have had forever that look good and 2 BTA's that also seem to be expended and stringy and never bubble. I am running a Maxspect Razor at near full power hung 10" off the water. Here are a few pics:

This was when I first brought it home:

Thanks.

For the most part, yes it looks good.

Do you know what lights it was under? Are you acclimating it to your lights?

The only minor thing, is that I would prefer to see a deeper sandbed -- at least in the area that it is in.

This picture is at least 3 years old (( need to get an updated picture of it )), but can see it looks similar to yours, so I feel that yours is in pretty good shape.

Thanks for the response, your carpet is very nice, as is the rest of your tank.
The guy I got it from had it under Led's as well, a reefbreeders system pretty similar to my Maxspect as far as size and depth. He had it for a few years and the guy he got it from had it for a few before that. The sand bed is very thin but under the rock where it's foot is buried is the deepest, still only an inch or 2. It's foot is attached to the glass under the sand.
Here is a pic of it feeding:

I have read that article and it was actually what steered me away from one many years ago. Mike used to be very active on nano-reef and is very knowledgeable, I used to read his reply's all the time telling noobs no carpets. To be honest the only reason I got this one is because it was so established and coming from a tank almost identical to mine. I have actually had it a bit over a month and it has stayed put. I agree the sand bed should be deeper and I am thinking now maybe I should fill the cave it's foot is in with sand? Speaking of deadly, this is what it did to my tang when it got to close:

good looking haddoni you have there. definitely expect to lose fish to it over time...especially little fish.

Ok so I have another question. I noticed last night that it started to fold in on the edges a bit before lights out. When I got up this morning it is completely sucked into the cave where it's foot is. It's mouth is puffed out but not gaping. Might be nothing but this is the first time it has done this.
Does anyone know if the 2 bta's and 3 mini carpets can cause issues for it? I read some threads that say you shouldn't mix species but the tank this carpet came from had several bta's and a few mini carpets so I figured it would be ok.

I, personally, have never had good luck mixing different species of anemones --- had great luck with different color morphs of the same speceis however.

Have tried S. haddoni and E. quadricolor and S. haddoni and M. doreensis, the same results. The S. haddonis (( two different ones, 2 different tanks )) which were fully settled in, and hadn't moved in an year started moving around right after the introduction of the other species (( no other changes to the tanks )), they stopped that behavior shortly after the removal of the other species.

Should note, that S. haddonis can fully retract into the sandbed -- defense mechanism;

Ok. I am thinking the other species may be the issue, I will watch it and see. Would running carbon help at all? I know when I have had many leathers in the same tank running carbon helped their chemical fights, does the same apply for anemone's?

Some have had good luck with this -- carbon or no carbon. I didn't, even with carbon, skimming and weekly water changes. This was in a 75 and 58.

I am afraid I will have the same issue and I hate to say it but I might need to get rid of the carpet if it comes to that. I have a pair of clowns 1 picasso and 1 platinum that love their BTA, I would hate to take that from them. I will try putting carbon back on line and keep up on water changes, hopefully I have success.

I would give it some time. Just make sure that all powerheads are covered.

Will do. I have 1 mp40 and I should have foam covers some time this week. I bought it used so it didn't come with them.

Well I think I now know what has my carpet all ****** off. I can now see that my rose BTA split some time during the night. I would assume that whatever it is these nems release to fight would be elevated during a split? Maybe I am wrong though, anybody know about this?
