What fish and inverts do you have? How long have you had it? What are your water params? Do you run carbon or GFO?

params are in check
alk 8
calc 440
mg 1340
am 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 0-5
po4 0

just run a small amount of gac, use lanthanum chloride every 2 months or so for po4 control
dose vodka .03ml per day

fish are tomini tang, 2 blue chromis
inverts are cleaner shrimp, hermit crabs, snails all of which are reef safe

i've had it about a month, month and a half under leds 60-50% placed in mid tank

started acting up about 2 days ago or so

Can you take a Gatorade bottle and cut it in half and fill it full of 1/4" holes for water circulation and then place it over the clam to shield it. I bet it's ether your shrimp irritating it, or it looks to be a French Polynesian Maxima and I've seen lots of them not do well in the home aquarium and die after a short period of time.

Shrimp really doesn't mess with it to much. At least the mantle. But yeah sure I'll try that out! Thanks for advice! Will i be able to uncover it sooner or later or does one or the other need to go?

So i moved iy up in the tank and spot fed some cyclopeeze and here is what it is looking like today.

Mantle and mouth are both opened up further them what they have on the past.
