Hello everyone, I introduced a purple long tentacle anemone to my reef yesterday evening. I’ve never had an anemone before but I understand that they do tend to hide when first introduced so I’m not concerned about that. But, since I have never had one before I am asking those who have if this looks to be in good health. I just want need some reassurance that it is healthy. The images are a couple hours apart. Thanks

Looks like a healthy LTA to me.

From the pictures it looks really good. Damage to its foot is a main purchasing concern. Hopefully your lfs sold you a healthy specimen. Good lighting and supplemental weekly feeding and you should be good.
Upon receiving it I examined it pretty closely and everything looked okay. There was no discoloration or damage to the foot whatsoever. I put it in a general area I thought would be best for its needs with the hopes it would find its place pretty quickly. The first image is when I put it in there and the second is a couple hours later after it wedged itself between the rock. I placed it in there on Thursday the 14th and it is almost completely in the back now. I’m assuming LiveAquaria may not have had the lighting as strong and it is taking its time to get used to it. I acclimated with the lights off but after placing it I turned the lights back on and it opened beautifully almost instantaneously. I’m just a little nervous since I’ve never had one before, even after the years I’ve kept corals and other reef livestock, I’m not for 100% certain how a healthy anemone looks or behave even after all the research I have done. I appreciate the reassurance!

It looks good to me! I had terrible luck with a bubble tip (first nem), but I've found my long tentacle to be much easier to care for. Mine likes the foot buried in the sand next to a rock. Always seems to be hungry, and will grab little bits of mysis the fish miss. If it looks particularly hungry I give it a bigger chunk of shrimp once a week. (When hungry mine will open it's mouth a little).
