Does this Royal Gramma look like he has velvet? Last night he didn't come out for the evening feeding, which was unusual. He was hiding in a hole where he often hangs out.
This morning he came out and ate a bit, but I noticed what looks like a greyish white fuzzy patch on his right side, as well as a small white spot on the right side of his snout. He was also flashing his right side on some shells.
I read that they are light sensitive with velvet, so I kept the light off all day. I dosed the entire tank with Imagitarium Parasite Remedy and this evening I'd like to think he looks slightly better. He's definitely not any worse. Other than not eating again and hiding out a little more than usual, he's acting fine. No heavy breathing or gasping at the surface. He swims around normally.
I've had him since 1/25, and he came from a very reputable LFS. The only other additions since him were a Randall's goby and two emerald crabs from the same store -- same tank in fact. Those were added 2/1. Nothing else in the tank shows any signs of anything.
It's difficult to get a good pic of what I'm seeing, but you can catch a glimpse of it best in the video right before he ducks behind the rock.
