Yes it does look like it but I don’t know for sure. I’m worried about the darker spots in the center. It looks like it has a second head??
That's not a scoly (Homophyllia australis). That is, if I'm not mistaken, Echinomorpha nishihirai, which is a very rare coral in this hobby.

No, it's not. Flesh texture and extratentacular budding says otherwise.I
I’m pretty certain it’s a scoly. All I’m worried about is if there is anything wrong that you can see or anyone else can see.
I just watched it open up and extend its tentacles just like a scoly. No, it's not. Flesh texture and extratentacular budding says otherwise.
Echinomorpha nihishirai. Scolies (Homophyllia australis) don't have this flesh texture and don't bud extratentacularly. If it opens up like a scoly but isn’t a scoly then what is it?
That's an Atlantic Scolymia, which are illegal to collect and never found in the hobby. The scolymia in the hobby are from Australia. Also this is a pic of a scoly I found online that looks similar to mine.![]()
looks fine, as long as skeleton isn't showing and flesh isn't withered, your coral is goodNow please please please do me a huge favor and answer my question. I didn’t ask about anything other than if it looked sickly to anyone else.
I really appreciate your input here !Honestly it looks good to me. I don't see any issues with it
It might not look as inflated at it did at the store because it still acclimating to your lights. I've also noticed that sometimes they don't always do good in the sand because they have a tendency to sink and get covered. My advice with lps corals and scoly type corals is to make sure they don't get covered at all by sand. If they do get covered in sand by fish or something I find that they can become sick alot easier and have had better luck with putting them on rocks. This will keep them away from the sand and all the bacteria that lives in your sand.I really appreciate your input here !
