Replace the Atman with a Sicce

I agree....give me details. I would love to do nothing more than replace the POC Atman with a Sicce. I've looked at them in the past....but give me details on which one would fit within an SWC 160 without major modifications.

Are you saying you cannot close the valve down enough to raise the level?

No not all the way, sorry I was not clear there. I turned it and normally if I did that it would have busted the water way over the neck of the skimmer. So I know something was off and I did not continue closing the skimmer valve.

Ok. That makes more sense.
If I understand it correctly, your skimmer was off overnight. Now the water level inside the skimmer body has dropped.
Leaving the skimmer off overnight would have allowed time for the water to dissolve any salt creep buildup in the skimmer's venturi inlet. In turn, it would allow the skimmer to pull in more air. I used to have to clean the inlet to my old ASM'S Sedra pump from time to time. I would always have to readjust to raise the water level afterwards.
Could be something as simple as that if I'm understanding the problem correctly.

Hmm, I am not sure. I just cleaned and checked it recently so the air intake is very clean. I will double check this weekend. BTW, this is not the first time I turned off the skimmer for a few days and in the past this was never happened so it was a surprised for me.
