Not much food in my sandbed, tank is pretty new and as I understand it you should get the clean up crew after turning the lights on. I do feed him but he can't really eat the algae wafer too well and the flakes are really only what he seems to eat but he usually can't find them.

He has been in the tank since the 18th of July.

Looks good! If it is a relatively new tank with few fish and little algae growth you can supplement feeding with dried seaweed and frozen food (like mysis). They will consume detritus from the substrate and find bits of uneaten food that lands on the sand bed. Careful not to overdo it to keep your nitrates/phosphates in check.

Looks ok but starvation will slowly deteriorate them. Algae wafers are a good supplement but not diet

Do they eat poop? I have found that the poop in my tank tends to disappear..
