I have a chocolate tang that’s been in my tank for a few months now. Recently he has been scratching on the rocks and sand so I’ve been keeping an eye on him. And now he has white spots that are more visible in the blue light. In the white light they almost look like pieces of fuzz. From pictures online it doesn’t look very much like it but I feel like it is so I don’t know please help me. I’ve never dealt with this stuff so I don’t know what to look for or any of that. Thanks for the help!

To best assess what you have, please provide a pic or two under white lights

I tired. Sorry but they aren’t visible on camera and barely in real life. All I can do is describe it, sorry.
What about a short video? Without something visual, it'll be impossible to make even an educated guess.

Many issues can look similar to each other.

Is the fish breathing faster than normal? Any swell in the hills?

Lol it might sound like I’m making excuses now but I don’t have enough storage to send a video on my phone.

but I’ll try to send a video. Right now he is in what I called “The fish jail“ because I added a new fish and he wasn’t getting along with him. In the second reason is so that I can observe him and see whether or not he does have ich.

but he seems pretty normal. He doesn’t seem to be breathing too heavy or anything he just rubbing against the rocks. I’ll try to see if I can get a video tho.

Also, he is a little stressed about being in there but he won't be there too long. I'll let him out after work when I can make sure he is not hurting the other guy.

These things happen. Keep an eye on it for damage from aggression, rapid breathing, lethargic behavior and loss of appetite.

That’s what I thought most of it look like when it was under the blue light but I knew that was a different thing. He also hasn’t even had a lot of contact with the other fish.
